Where Can You Get International Calling Cards?

Jason Creation asked:

Are you an expatriate and need to make international calls without accruing all the expensive costs that can pile up if you did it from your home or used a landline? Or do you just need to make long distance calls for a fraction of the costs? Then you need international calling cards to be able to do this. Since the world is now a global village, you can easily make calls to just about anywhere with the exception of the sun – and who knows, that might just be possible one of these days.

Anyways, why do you want to make international phone calls using international calling cards and not your landline at home? Imagine that the cost of making an international call from your landline is about 20 cents per second, how much do you think you would be owing in phone bills at the end of the month if you spent just 10 minutes? Now you get the picture.

Getting international calling cards is very easy but the difference is in choosing one out of the many providers available all over the place. While this may not look like much of a problem at first as many providers seem to offer the same rates, on closer inspection, some other things become evident. Things like the cost of calls per minute to a certain country mostly vary from different providers.

For instance, while the calls to Canada might be the same rates across board, the calls to countries like Zaire can be drastically different depending on the providers. Apart from this, there are likely to be different surcharges that are not immediately glaring. You do not want to get cut off in the middle of an important discussion just because your call credit is low, do you? So, take the necessary time to look things through and find which options suit you.

Often times, you might have to try various providers before finally settling on one. Better still why not ask a friend which provider they use for their long distance calls. That should point you in the right direction. When your mind is made up on the provider, you can simply walk into any phone card shop and buy up some international phone cards to make the necessary phone calls. Be careful however with the cards as people could steal the cards for purposes of indecent activity.

By all means avoid providers who will charge you three different charges when it could be just one. Some providers of calling cards will charge you for connection, for service and for maintenance. While some other providers may just charge you for one of the three. Whichever you opt for, ensure that you do not get duped unnecessarily as there is really no need to pay extra when it can be avoided.

Remember, as I said above, since the world is now a global village, you can easily make calls to just about anywhere with the exception of the sun – and who knows, that might just be possible one of these days.

The Best International Calling Cards

There are several companies out there trying to drain people of their money left and right. But when someone needs to make a call, they don’t want to spend their hard earned cash foolishly. That’s why it’s smart to choose the best international calling cards. Many can be recharged, and they all have great rates to help save money.

ZapTel sells a calling card with a five cent per minute rate, with all the features a person could ask for. Calls can be made from anywhere in the US and Canada to anywhere in the world. The “Call the World” card is rechargeable, allowing users to keep their same PIN number and refill the card from the internet at any time. It maintains call records online, so anyone can check their records for business purposes or otherwise. This card also allows PINzap pinless dialing, so calls can be made from an office or mobile phone at any time, without the PIN number. Up to 99 phone numbers can be saved to speed dial as well. As long as the card is used once per year, it never expires. Internet dialing is available as well, which makes this card one of the best international calling cards.

ZapTel’s minute-by-minute card allows a lower rate than the Call the World card, but with less features. It still maintains the rechargability and PINzap dialing, but drops internet dialing, call records, and speed dial. For three cents per minute though, it may be worth it. Calls can originate from any of the contiguous 48 states in the USA or Canada. The best international calling cards are sometimes the least expensive.

Finally, the best per minute rate could cost you less than a cent per minute. The Extreme Talk Time International card is the best international calling card sold by ZapTel. It carries a .9 cent per minute rate, but with low cost comes higher fees. Unlike the previously listed cards, this card comes with a connect fee and a service fee. These aren’t outrageous though, and shouldn’t be a turn off when considering the card. It has anytime recharge, PINzap pinless calls, and available call records. This card allows for calls from any of the mainland US states and Canada to anywhere in the world.

The best international calling cards can be cheap, but many come with high connect fees and expire in a year. These cards make it so calls can be made to anywhere at any time from the US and Canada. Price points help pay for more features, so pay for what is necessary.

So I need to call my friend in Canada so i bought a calling card. Its a Vox card that does America and Canada. I bought it in Canada. But I don’t want her to have to pay long distance to talk to me. If I call her with a calling card does she have to pay for a long distance call or is it like a local call for her?
